Some good news
Thanks guys. I am okay and I think I will be okay. Since yesterday morning I have been hit by waves of queasiness (no nausea) and the most extreme exhaustion I have ever felt. I get up for an hour, then go back to sleep for 2. But I am just letting my body dictate what it wants of me.
Thank you also for your comments on George. I really like George and I can assure you he will be going to a good home. (sadly he is not Tukka's). I made George for a special little boy who is due in August.
Now for some really good news.
Last night we went to the 60th birthday party of my brother's girlfriend. She is someone who is very special to us. Not only is she an incredibly wonderful person but she understands my brother and they are just perfect together.
Last night, in front of everyone, my brother proposed to her, and she very happily accepted.
My brother was a bit concerned about the age difference (he is 48) but it has never bothered any of us. She is a very young 60 (most would take her for the same age as my brother), and she is just so perfect for him. My brother has been quite a troubled soul since his ex-wife left him about 10 years ago. He became very angry and bitter and would deal with it by drinking.
I don't know how many family parties we went to where we had to restrain him from bashing his ex-wife's boyfriend - his kids 18ths, 21sts and debutante balls, just to name a few. His girlfriend J has seen all this, and just calmly says "it's his way of dealing with it" and helps to get him home and to bed without hurting anyone. A few times I have seen her upset by his behaviour, and have spoken to her about it. I have asked the question "why do you put up with this?" and she says "because I love him". She also has a 24 year old autistic son who is the light of her life. Maybe that is why she has the patience for my brother.
As you can tell we love her very much and will be very happy to make her part of our family.
Must go eat something now before I go back to sleep.
