Police say Mother Injected Toddler with Faeces
Can you believe this? I saw it on here OMG there are some sickos in this world. Why can't people like this give their kids up for adoption or something? (I know it isn't that easy - these people have serious psych problems).

BEAR, Del. -- A former pediatric nurse has been charged with trying to poison her toddler son by injecting human feces into his bloodstream.
Stephanie McMullen, 29, was charged Thursday with assault and reckless endangerment counts and released on bail.
Doctors at the hospital where McMullen worked alerted police that her 22-month-old son had been hospitalized six times since he was four months old for "serious, potentially life-threatening illnesses," acting police chief Lt. Col. Scott McLaren said.
During one examination, doctors found E. coli, a bacteria found in feces, in the boy's bloodstream, and said the only way it could have entered the bloodstream was "through injection, not consumption."
"This could have eventually led to the death of the child," McLaren said.
A search of McMullen's hospital locker turned up needles, a syringe holder and an intravenous line tap, and an examination of her home computer indicated she had been researching child poisoning, according to court records.
McLaren said the woman could have Munchausen syndrome by proxy, in which caregivers cause illnesses in children or exaggerate their symptoms in an effort to draw attention to themselves.
McMullen's attorney, Elwood Eveland Jr., said the child has an eating disorder, and that he has consulted with a medical expert who believes that what the child is suffering is part of a medical condition.
He said police have "absolutely no evidence of an objective nature" against her.
The boy was placed in foster care, and McMullen is scheduled to appear in Family Court next week to try to regain custody.

Bugs - surely that story can't be true?
Oh that poor, poor child. What is worse is that child will be scared for life. The mother should be shot. What an outrage!
Mari
And she's a mom. How awful!
I feel so sorry for that child. How awful to be born to that. I hope they find a good adpotive family for him.
That is SO sad. You'd almost have to think that the woman is ill to do that.
That's awful! I hope they are able to prove this quickly and the child is removed and placed in a safe and loving home.
Ugh, I feel sick.
Dang! I WISH I could believe that story isn't true, but I bet it is. Really, there are not many ways to get e coli into the bloodstream. In the gut yes, in the bloodstream, non. Eating problems my eye. I hope that they remove him from her custody and get psychiatric help for her. On another news-related topic re foster care, here in Montreal, a woman's child was removed because he has multiple handicaps and she is on welfare and they said she couldn't properly get him therapeutic aid etc. He was put in foster care, and died this last week, drowned in the foster family's backyard pool. The birthmother is inconsolable... he wasn't even removed from her cuz of abuse or anything. Egads the world is so unfair. I am here via cubbiegirl's blog. I hope you get to seduce your hubby soon with them cowboy shots (have no idea what those are!). Sorry about your miscarriages. I can't imagine how hard that must be. I tried to get pregnant for six years, with clomid, hormones and all, and not even later than 31 days (I am usually 26-27), so I never dealt with miscarriage. It must be so very hard to have the hopes come and then lose it. I wish you all the best, really I do. cheers!
DID YOU NOTICE THAT OF ALL THE TIMES THE BOY WAS SICK THAT E-COLI WAS ONLY FOUND ONCE IN ALL THE BLOOD TESTS???COULD BE A LAB MISTAKE OR DIRTY LAB EQUIPMENT!! YOU CAN'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ OR HEAR ON TV...
