Now I can breathe a little

I hope everyone had a great weekend. It was Queen's birthday long weekend here and it was wonderful to have one more day to do things.

I rested a lot on Saturday, as I was still getting lots of cramping. I also had a bit of a scare as I got a slightly pink bit when I wiped, and I totally freaked out and just laid down for a bit. I felt like crying, like I was about to miscarry again. Luckily this scare passed without a repeat.

Sunday I still had cramping so I took it fairly easy still. Monday the cramping had left and I felt fantastic. I then worried , of course, that feeling great was a very bad sign.

We went to see the da vinci code movie which I really enjoyed except that by half way through I was once again busting to go to the loo. I refused to give in to the feeling though and by the end of the movie (did anyone else think this was a terribly long movie), I was not only busting but feeling very queasy.

This morning I had my follow up blood test. The wait for the results was horrid. But worth it. The results were fantastic.

8 days ago when I did the beta test, my results were:

Progesterone : 26.6
HCG: 346

Today it was:

Progesterone: 27.3
HCG: 6480

This is a doubling time of only 45.5 hours. At this stage doubling time of up to 72 hours (usually 48 to 72 hours) is acceptable. Any time longer than that spells trouble.

I am sooo very relieved. Little squirt (cause it took an iui to get him) actually has a chance. Thank goodness.

I am still very scared of something going wrong, but I feel like I actually have a chance at this and that is all I can ask for.

of course in all my happiness there is a lot of sadness.

My heart aches for Thalia, who's pain I feel so closely. I so wish things could be different for you darls.

I also am constantly thinking of Eleni who posted comments to my last post. Her results are currently "inconclusive" and she has yet another wait to find out if she is pregnant. Thinking of you dear.

There is also my lovely friend at work. She is barely 26 weeks pregnant and has bad pre-eclampsia. They think they may have to deliver her any second (they were talking today and now they are talking tomorrow). I am saying everything I can that you and the baby are okay darls. She is in the very best place, but still - it is not fair that bubs has to be born so very early. Hope you are all okay.
