We're in! We're in!

Just back from the specialists office - It went like clockwork. We chatted then he said "so What do you think we should do?" and I said "Well, we would like to move onto IVF" and he said "exactly what I was going to suggest next! Great minds think alike."

He filled in my activation form on the spot, wrote me a script for the pill and said when (if) I get AF in the next few days, to start the pill on cd3, and away we go. (yes I know it is a bizarre concept taking the pill but it is the first step in the IVF process - who am I to question it).

He also said that because we have hit the medicare safety net level, an ivf cycle should only cost us about $500 !!! Wow! We can afford IVF!

I am so excited.

As he was filling in my form he said "You both go by the surname "Bugsy"?" and I said "yes my maiden name was a good woggy one - hehe" - he asked about it and that's when we discovered that he knows my Uncle. Really well too. My uncle taught him in High school and he was definately his favorite teacher of all time. They are still friends.

So he has told us now that we will definately get VIP treatment! He even said that in his dictaphone as he was dictating the letter he wanted sent to my referring doctor hehe

It went something like this " memo to referring Dr "no idea", Bugsy and hubbs have given OI a really good shot with my clinic, and are now moving onto IVF with my full permission. Next paragraph, I have just found out that Bugsy is the niece of my favorite teacher of all time, whom I admire greatly and still friends with. Bugsy will definately be receiving the best VIP treatment I can give her and I promise to do my absolute best to get her pregnant."

hehe

He also said that we could transfer 2 embryo's back in if we wanted to rather than just one.

yay yay yay - I am so excited.

Did I mention I am very excited?

That is fantastic!

Of course, I hope AF doesn't arrive and you don't need to do IVF, but if it does it's great to know you're moving on to a bigger and better plan that you and your doctor are happy with.

YAY YAY YAY. I am doing a Happy Dance right at this moment (even though my gut holes hurt like hell...lol)

I am so excited for you. But as Sassy said, I hope you dont need to proceed onto IVF.

Also double YAY on meeting your safety net and a cycle only costing $500, that is wonderful news and a huge burden off your shoulders.

So very very happy. Good luck over the next few days, fingers crossed that you will be able to use your safety net on ob fees instead.
