Back into the fray

We went to see the lovely Prof today. He is such a wonderful doctor.

We are going to do an IVF cycle - right now, before Christmas! No waiting, no nothing.

I did a blood test today and if my results are okay tomorrow then I start the pill immediately. I stay on that for 14 days and then I start the drugs to build up my eggs prior to egg pickup.

He has fasttracked us in every respect - even getting us into councelling asap so we can get a cycle in before Christmas. He is doing this because that way we can save a heap on the cost of the cycle as we are over the safety level and so a cycle should cost us about $400 and that ends 1st Jan so we have to get in quick.

I am still not sure I want to do this, but being fasttracked like this is good for me because then I don't have time to think about what is happening, and it will just happen around me.

I'm scared. A little frightened of doing the big IVF but I think I will be okay.

Maybe it will give me the confidence to move on with my life.

It is going to be hard. Please stay with me and help me through this. I really need you guys right now.

Hi Bugsy

Just want to let you know that I am with you on this one (IVF journey), and hope you have much success with it. Don't be scared, it is not the most pleasant of experience, but sometimes our willpower surprises ourselves. Try to reward yourself as much as you can, and be gentle on yourself during this time. I will be thinking of you and be checking up on you from time to time. You hang in there with hubbs lovely lady.

Sometimes it's for the best when the tide just carries us along without giving us time to think about where we're going. I hope everything goes well and that this cycle is a success for you.

Hi Bugsy, WOW that's great news. The same happened to us first time! One minute I was there to talk about options and the next day I was taking the drugs and only a few weeks later we found out we were pg with Piper! I definately think just going with it is the best option, less time to think about the what if's etc...We're hre every step of the way sweety.

Bugsy,
Sorry I am a bit behind with your posts but that is fantastic news doing an IVF cycle before christmas !

I know the money side of things is a big stress factor, it was the same for us especially since I am now jobless.
But where there is a will there is a way and am I sure the clinic will help you out.

You are so deserving to be parents and never think otherwise.
Take care and good luck !
