a knitting question - to focus elsewhere

ok - doing my best to focus on something else.

Knitting question.

I started knitting a scarf with the lovely yarn Katt gave me. Katt suggested 20-30 stitches on 9mm needles. Well I didn't have 9mm needles so used 8mm needles instead and thought I would do 30 stitches to compensate.

So I have knitted up one entire ball and now I am wondering if I should frog it and start again.

1 ball of yarn knitted up a section 38 cm long and is 26cm wide.

So If I have 3 balls of this yarn I will end up with a scarf 26cm wide and around 114cm long.

Is that long enough for a scarf? Should I frog it and start again at 20 stitches wide?

By the way Katt, it knits up beautifully and is soooooo soft. It looks great so far.
