Can anyone say "Normal"?

I sure heard that word a lot today. I knew things would be okay when the lady started doing the scan and straight away we saw something in there. Moments later Hubbs said "look at that heartbeat". (yes he was thankfully able to make it).

Everything is blissfully normal. Normal size, perfect for 8 weeks. See that black area at the top (in the circle) and the white bit up top? She said that is where the brain is developing and you only see that when you get to about 8 weeks - so we are spot on for dates. Heartbeat was a perfect 162 beats. She said from everything she saw there is no reason to indicate this wouldn't continue to a healthy birth. Of course there are no guarantees, but I am happy that things are going well so far. Actually happy isn't quite the word. I cried and said "hey sweetie ?" at the monitor like a freak. Then I cried some more. Baby is 1.4cms now.

Hubbs has a smile on his face so wide, I thought his face would split. We then went nextdoor and told the ladies at Monash IVF and they all came out and oohhed and arrrrred over the photos. It was very sweet.

Ok - I promised Leonie I would try and relax a little now. So I will - I promise!

Hubbs is taking me out to dinner soon to celebrate. He keeps calling me "Mummy" and I keep calling him "Daddy" and "papa". OMG we are having a baby!

FANTASTIC NEWS, I am so happy, I just knew it, I will personally come down to Melbourne and do more than slap that other wanker.

I have the biggest grin and Dh also says Congrats and said that it is wonderful news.

CONGRATS AGAIN, and you are not a freak, when I first saw DS I touched the screen and bawled like a baby.

Words cannot describe how excited I am for you.

Love and hugs,
