The breast crawl

This is just the most amazing thing.

I had heard about this but it is amazing to see it in action. This is on my birthplan and I have already spoken to the midwife at the hospital who said as long as bub is okay and doesn't need any assistance, then there is no reason why I can't have bub with me for the first hour after birth to do this.

Check it out --> http://www.breastcrawl.org/video.htm

It seriously brought tears to my eyes and I just long to experience this.

That was amazing! Breastfeeding can be very beautiful once you've got it right. For us it was really stressful for the first few weeks - Poopee was pushing me away at just 2 days old! But now we both enjoy it, it really is a gift (and it puts Poopee to sleep too!).

Saw your baby timeline Bugsy, not long to go now!

Sis,
You keep wriggles with you for as long as you want.
We dimmed the lights with Ty and the midwife left us alone for over an hour. Just coming in quietly to check both of us and assist with BF. After an hour I got up and had a shower and Troy held Ty. The Birth Bubble is just beautiful and so precious.
We turned our phones off and just rejoiced in the moment. While the staff took calls they did not give out information re the birth.
We wanted to do this in our own time.
When we had to leave the birthing unit the Midwife tucked all 3 of us in bed where we all went to sleep.
I have a freind who had a c-section and while her baby was being born the Mum sand Amazing grace. She also got to bond with her baby for over an hour in recovery. She told me her baby came out looking for her voice.

Isnt that special ?.

GOod morning...I found you this morning through Sitting in silence and watched the video and was blown away! Things are so mechanical and sterile here in the states, alot of lights, noise, baby whisked away...etc. I would love a birth like the one in the video. Good thing I am waaay too old for another baby or I might give it a go :) I will be adding you to my blog list and looking forward to your little one arriving.

Hey sweet, just wanted to say hi, popped in for first time in a while.
Wow look at that ticker go :) You are now past when I had Laci. she came at 31 weeks 5 days and is just perfect.
So very happy for you, hopefully won't be long and you can have some rest time :)

I have heard about this also. Wow. Bugs, I'm glad the hosital will be open to this fascinating option. Clever little baby! I would have to be tied down...so as not to intervene! It would take all my self control not to pick the baby up. So, I would sorta suck at this! It gives me lots to think about however, especially teamed with Danielle's comments. (love that girl)

I watched the video and it also bought tears to my eyes. Aren't they clever little things, it really is amazing. Not long after my ceasar my little one was placed on my bare chest under a warm blanket. She squirmed for a while and found my breat where she got straight onto the job of sucking. It took my breath away. I'll never forget it. The sad thing is that Action man missed it cause he wasn't allowed into recovery. I really resent that.
You are looking good Bugsy!
I finally put some photos of my bub on my page if you want to have a look.
