1 year old today!

My baby boy is 1 year old today. This time last year i was cradling him in my arms, during the precious moments they let me touch him while he was in special care.

This time last year I knew my life had changed forever, but I really had no idea just how much it had changed.

This time last year i thought my dreams had all come true - little did I know it would get better than i had ever dreamed of.

1 year old today.

Alex had a lovely birthday - he couldn't believe all the new things he got to play with.

Daddy and Mummy bought him a learning car and he couldn't wait for daddy to unpack it and put it together.


But once it was together he knew exactly what to do with it.

Apparently it is heaps of fun.
The ever lovely Katt gave him (amongst some awesome clothing) a hand made lil devil hat. Mummy loves it as he can't easily get it off (and he is always pulling his hats off) but Alex wasn't that keen on it lol: She sells lovely hand made items on her etsy site (here)
Auntie and Uncle also bought him a block wagon that he adores. Then he worked out he could play with both at once - and he was a happy boy then.

We had lunch today with friends and family. Alex's best mate Jesse was there to help him celebrate - they enjoyed their time together:

Until Alex decided he wanted both toys - poor Jesse!


I am happy with the cake we got - it tasted divine.

Of course we got a pic of Mummy, Daddy and our 1 year old son, Alex.

Did I mention that he loved the cake?


Last week I asked Hubbs "Is he everything you expected?" - he said "Nope - he is so much more, and better than i ever dreamed". Wow

Happy Birthday darling boy. Mummy and Daddy love you more than anything in the world.

Happy Birthday Daddy

Daddy turned 42 yesterday - boy my dad is old! I am not even 1/42th of his age!

Dad and I celebrated by watching TV together.


Today Mum sat me up with all my favorite toys hehe.




She has almost finished knitting me my toy for christmas! yay.

Who does Alex look like?

Alex says "thank you for all his kisses". He thoroughly enjoyed them, as I did.

I had a reasonably nice birthday only sullied by one thing which I am not ready to blog about just yet apart from to say a friendship that has been on the rocks for a long time finally disintegrated in a fiery blaze.

Hubbs gave me a new digital camera and Alex gave me a 2gb card for the camera. The best present of all though was the one I got just over 3 months ago - of course ;-) I also got the cutest little card that said "to mummy" which made me cry. I never thought I would ever get to see one of those.

Hubbs was so nice to me all day - he came home from the shop and looked after Alex for me so I could get some rest, and he even made up formula for him, and got up to him in the middle of the night too - yay.

We bought Alex a high chair too! Since everyone said that he could start solids around 4 months, we have been looking out for one, and we picked up a nice one at Target on special. So then the maternal health care nurse tells me that the age for starting solids has just been changed to 6 months! But we will see how he goes - we might still start a little earlier.

I think he is Hubbs all over. When I look at Hubb's baby picture it is like looking at a picture of Alex - just amazing. Guess he will never be denying he is the daddy huh!
